What is Core Aeration?
A heavy piece of equipment known as an aerator is pushed across your lawn while it pulls up small cylinder shaped plugs of soil and thatch. The plugs remain on the lawn temporarily and will breakdown and disperse over a short amount of time.
Benefits of Aeration
- Aeration helps promote a healthy environment for your lawn by reducing soil compaction and allowing air, water, and nutrients to flow through your lawn’s root system.
- A strong root system will help to mitigate damage from insects, lawn diseases, and drought stress.
Frequency and Timing
- For most lawns we recommend aeration once a year. We do our aerating in the Fall when the ground is soft and moist from the rainfall that is typical during the Fall season in the Cleveland area . Aeration can also be provided in the Spring upon request.
